Prior to starting SES Consulting Inc., Scott was a managing partner in a design build mechanical contracting firm, where he developed expertise in construction cost analysis and practical implementation. Scott is a Mechanical Engineer with a background in HVAC systems, mechanical contracting and building automation. Scott has a passion for implementing strategies that will directly reduce our impact on global warming.

Brad White
PEng, MASc, BASc
Principal
Brad is a Professional Engineer with six years experience providing energy audits, retro-commissioning, project implementation, and building system integration. Brad works closely with clients to integrate leading edge technologies and energy conservation strategies into existing buildings including heat recovery, renewable energy and advanced controls.
Prior to joining SES Consulting, Brad conducted research on new manufacturing techniques for clean energy technologies at UBC.

Natalie Vadeboncoeur
PEng, MASc, BASc, LEED AP
Energy Efficiency Engineer
Natalie has worked with SES Consulting for 4 years performing energy audits, Continuous Optimization studies, and carrying out energy project design and implementation. She received her BSc from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her MASc from UBC, both in mechanical engineering. Her graduate research work involved developing and testing a method for enhancing efficiency in sawmills in order to reduce demand for raw material. Natalie specializes in DDC optimization and troubleshooting high energy use.

Justin Blanchfield
PEng, MASc
Energy Efficiency Engineer
Justin’s career is focused on the sustainable development of our communities by minimizing our impact on the environment. He has extensive experience in energy conservation, renewable energy, water treatment, and mathematical modelling. Justin recently taught the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning course at Camosun college. He hopes to train many more Engineers in the art of energy efficiency!

Autumn Umanetz
PEng, BASc
Integration Specialist
Autumn has been participating in energy conservation projects since infancy, having been raised in a solar-heated, wind-powered, off-grid home. He received an honours BASc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 1995, and has wide experience in fields including mechanical and electronic design, information technology, project management, and systems optimization.

Rob Baxter
MBA, LEED GA
Office Management Consultant
In addition to his part-time work at SES, Rob is a co-founder of Vancouver Renewable Energy, where he provides consulting and project management services for renewable energy systems. As part of the role, he helped initiate and complete the first grid-tie photovoltaic install in the Vancouver. Prior to that, he owned an IT consulting firm which provided services throughout North America.

Nicole Cook
BSc, LEED GA
Project Coordinator
Nicole has a passion for sustainability along with a BSc. from the University of Western Australia and LEED GA accreditation. This combined with her excellent organizational skills ensures projects for SES and their clients are on time and on budget.
Nicole’s most recent accomplishments include being on the team that achieved Gold certification for the Mazda Building under the CaGBC LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance. Her current work includes LEED certifications as well as staff and project management.

Darla Simpson
BSc, CEM
Social Marketing Programs
Darla comes to SES with 10 years experience in sustainability training and occupant engagement. She has a B.Sc. in Environmental Conservation Sciences from the University of Alberta with a focus on Environmental Economics and Policy and has recently received her CEM qualification.
Darla’s work with SES includes project management, design and evaluation of building occupant engagement strategies, communications, outreach and administration.

Chris Goodchild

Energy Efficiency Engineer
Chris has worked in energy efficiency for two years specializing in building optimization. Prior to working with SES, he worked as a systems engineer focused on the performance of fuel cell engines. Chris has a B.A.Sc. with distinction in Mechanical Engineering from UBC, which included two semesters at the University of Western Australia.
Chris’ work at SES includes investigation and implementation of advanced measures to improve building energy performance and occupant comfort.

Amy LaMantia

Energy Efficiency Engineer
Amy received her BSc from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Mechanical Engineering and her MASc from Pennsylvania State University in Manufacturing Management. She specializes in continuous optimization on product and process lines to reduce waste and increase operational efficiency. She brings to SES a passion for improving energy efficiency in all aspects of building performance.

Brian Miltimore
AScT, CEM, CMVP, RPA, LEED AP
Business Development, Project Management
Brian has been directly involved in advancing sustainability and energy conservation in the built environment since 1976. Since 1996 his main focus has been providing enterprise based solutions for businesses and institutions across Canada, as well as internationally. Brian’s approach is to use operational efficiency improvements and sustainable resource management to reduce the energy footprint of organizations. To date, Brian has completed over 500 projects for large industrial, commercial and institutional facilities.

Angie Weddell

Energy Efficiency Technologist
Angie graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia in 2011. Passionate about building sustainable cities, Angie worked for the UBC School of Population and Public Health in the Cycling in Cities program, studying cycling safety and cycling education. She presented her research at VeloCity Global 2012, shortly before returning to her engineering roots as a technologist at SES.

Peter Hyslop

Energy Efficiency Engineer
Peter graduated with BE from Australian National University in 1998 and a has recently completed Masters of Science in Renewable Energy with high distinction. Prior to joining SES Peter worked in product and project engineering roles over 5 years in the manufacturing sector. Peter has a passion for smart and sustainable engineering solutions to energy dilemmas that face our society.

Emilie Ralston

Office Administrator
Emilie joins SES with a variety of experience in the green building industry from sales in green building supplies to tenant education and youth programs around energy conservation and sustainability. In addition to her part-time role with SES as an accounting and office administrator, she is also the administrative coordinator for Connecting Environmental Professionals.

Christopher Naismith

Energy Efficiency Engineer
Christopher sees efficiency in building design as a highly effective way of bringing sustainability to people’s daily lives. Having studied civil engineering at UBC and building sciences at Concordia University, he brings a whole systems design approach to his work. Christopher is also a LEED GA with aspirations of becoming Living Building Certified.

Adriana Barton
Communications Advisor
Adriana is a reporter at The Globe and Mail who provides advice on communications and strategic direction to SES. A former cellist, she began her journalism career with a Montreal Mirror cover story that exposed the link between lawn-care pesticides and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. She has launched travel magazines, contributed to book series and attended the Aga Khan Awards for Architecture as a guest journalist in India and Syria. Her work has appeared in enRoute, Azure, Western Living, Utne and Granville magazine, where she wrote a column on sustainable living.
