At SES, our values are at the core of everything we do. We have been a certified B-Corp since 2012, meeting their “rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency”.  In 2015 we were proud to be recognized as leaders in the B-Corp community earning a “Best for Workers” award by achieving a worker impact score in the top 10% of all B-Corps.

Values In Action

We are one of the founding organizations of EarthWork Day, where staff spend Earth Day on community volunteer projects building gardens, reclaiming natural areas, or giving free tune-ups to cyclists. Check out our facebook page for more stories or contact us to get involved.

We know a lot of good work is going on in the not-for-profit sector too. That’s why each year we donate 10% of our net profits to Canadian environmental charities as chosen by our staff. We also offset 100% of our annual electricity usage from EcoLogo-certified green generation facilities through Bullfrog Power.

Our central offices allow staff easy access to transit and cycling infrastructure. We have an office bike for errands, allow staff to claim bike mileage or use free transit passes for work.  We are also working towards a waste-free office with sustainable purchasing practices, extensive recycling and composting and a paper-free filing system.

Staff also recognize each other for living our values every day using stories shared at monthly lunches. At our company retreat, we use these stories to recognize team members who best demonstrate our values. This is just one more way that SES is working hard to “be the change”.
