SES Consulting is happy to share that we have received the ASHRAE Region XI Technology Award for the Forte Deep Energy Retrofit.

The project received Second Place in the Residential Buildings – Existing category, recognizing outstanding achievement in the application of heating, refrigerating, and air-conditioning technology. ASHRAE Region XI includes Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alaska, Oregon, and Washington, making this recognition especially meaningful across a broad and highly active region in building performance and energy innovation.

Deep energy retrofits are some of the most important and challenging projects in the building sector today. They require practical engineering, close collaboration, and a detailed understanding of how existing buildings actually operate. The Forte Deep Energy Retrofit is a strong example of how existing residential buildings can be renewed to improve performance, reduce emissions, and support long-term decarbonization.

The retrofit of Forte is part of FortisBC’s Deep Energy Retrofit Pilot, which aims to better understand how existing buildings with gas equipment can be upgraded to lower gas use by around 50 per cent.
